Screed is traditionally made with sharp sand and cement, similar to concrete and is predominantly used for garage floors or domestic floors, laid on top of underfloor heating. Less commonly it is used for patios or laying pavers.

The purpose of screed, which is usually placed on top of a concrete subfloor, is to give a perfectly smooth and level floor to lay your chosen floor finish on.

To give screed a stronger and more durable composition, we recommend to our customers that microfibres are added to mix before pouring. If you plan to lay screed during the warmer summer months then we also recommend adding a retarder admix to the mix, which will give you a reliable and strong finish.
